A smaller than usual group gathered for the traditional downing of the calcots at the March GPL. There were 20 golfers enjoying the sunny but crisp early spring day. Â A belated thank you with orchids was offered to Marlies for all of her contributions over the years as vice president.
The winners of the day couldn’t stay for lunch so Thom and Stan took first place. Philippe Pahaut and Sophal took second and  Harm & Gerija last place; Thom shared his winnings with them and Marga awarded the two a bottle for the fewest points! In the end, playing and having fun is winning!
Thursday, February 27th brought some sunshine into 13 members day; they all enjoyed an excursion to the Sorolla Exhibition at the Palau Martorell Museum in Barcelona. After strolling through the exhibit consisting of 85 of Sorolla’s works, all enjoyed lunch at La Pau restaurant just a few doors from the museum. Hita Doulmet organized the day, thanks Hita!
Petanque and lunch photos from the GPL 2nd February 2026. It was a cold and breezy day but our members ventured out for a little competition. The golf course was wet and muddy but at least the Pétanque course was not flooded. The winners were awarded new prizes, vouchers to spend at the club, and a new raffle was introduced for all our members to participate in the drawing. For the 18 holes golf the winners were Thierry de Ricard and Robin Wood. For the 9 holes golf : Bob Mannix and Georges Sorbets. For the pétanque: Lorenzo Tommasi and Xavier Denis. Raffle winners: Ank van Berkel and Pilar San Feliu
The CICB winter party was held on December 9th at the Barcarola Hotel in San Feliu de Guixoles. The 41 members who attended were in a festive mood as all posed for a photo as they entered the hotel. After dinner, there was dancing to the music from one of Nick West’s famous playlists; a big thank you to Nick for helping to create an enjoyable evening for all.
